[01-27-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Woman Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach.webpA woman was killed after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach early Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to reports of a traffic collision shortly before 6:00 a.m. near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Gundry Avenue.

Investigators reported that a 2024 Chevy Colorado was traveling westbound on Pacific Coast Highway when it struck a woman who was walking north across the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.

Police said the driver stopped and attempted to render aid to the injured woman until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived. She was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner will release her identity at a later time.

Authorities stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police indicated that speed, distracted driving, and impairment were not believed to be factors in the collision.
