[01-26-2026] Tuolumne County, CA – Motorcycle and SUV Crash on Highway 49/108 in Jamestown

A motorcycle and SUV were involved in a traffic collision on Highway 49/108 in Jamestown, Tuolumne County, on Monday evening, January 26, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 6:00 p.m. near Rawhide Road. 

Investigators reported that a Mitsubishi Outlander was pulling out from a private driveway and turning into the northbound lane when it entered the path of an oncoming Kawasaki motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.

CHP stated that the front of the SUV collided with the front of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to burst into flames and eject the rider. 

The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment. The SUV driver was not injured.

Authorities identified the SUV driver as a 41-year-old woman from Tuolumne and the motorcyclist as a 46-year-old man from Modesto. 

During the investigation, CHP determined that the SUV driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her on felony charges. Investigators also arrested the motorcyclist on outstanding felony warrants unrelated to the crash, along with an additional charge for providing false identification to a peace officer.

Following his release from the hospital, the motorcyclist was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail. 

The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
