A driver was killed following a multi-vehicle crash in Humboldt County on Monday night, January 26, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at approximately 9:25 p.m. on US-101 south of Rattlesnake Summit.
The driver of a silver Ford Escape was traveling southbound when the vehicle crossed the solid double yellow lines into the northbound lane.
CHP officials stated that the Ford sideswiped a white Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ereida M. before colliding with a white Freightliner truck tractor driven by Noel A.
The Chevrolet, which was carrying three passengers, lost control, struck a dirt embankment, and overturned, coming to rest on its side.
Authorities reported that one passenger from the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries and was transported to Howard Memorial Hospital for treatment. No additional injuries were reported.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene along with Caltrans, the Laytonville Fire Department, Cal Fire, and the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
CHP indicated it is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were factors. The investigation is ongoing.
