[01-24-2025] Firefighters Contain Half-Acre “52 Fire” In SR-52 And I-805 Near San Clemente CanyonA brush fire that burned approximately half an acre in the San Clemente Canyon area in San Diego early Friday morning, January 24, 2025, was extinguished.

According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD), the fire was initially reported at 6:33 a.m. in the area of State Route 52 and Interstate 805, with crews arriving on the scene about 10 minutes later.

Due to difficult terrain, a helicopter was deployed to drop water over the flames while ground crews worked to fully extinguish the fire.

Officials confirmed that no structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
