[01-20-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Passenger Killed in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Valley Circle Boulevard in Woodland Hills.webpA passenger was killed after a driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed into a tree on Valley Circle Boulevard near Valerie Avenue in Woodland Hills early Tuesday morning, January 20, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash was reported around 1:30 a.m. when a southbound blue Ford Mustang skidded across lanes and slammed into a tree. 

Authorities said the impact caused the tree to fall onto the vehicle, nearly splitting it in two. Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded and pronounced a male passenger in his early 20s dead at the scene.

Police said the driver and another passenger were able to exit the vehicle before it caught fire. The driver was transported to a hospital in stable condition, while the other passenger was treated at the scene. 

Investigators stated that speed appears to be a factor in the crash, though it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
