A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Fresno County on Monday evening, January 19, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at approximately 7:37 p.m. at Temperance Avenue, north of Central Avenue.
CHP spokesperson Mike Salas said the woman’s vehicle had broken down, and she was walking in the roadway north of Temperance Avenue when a southbound vehicle struck her. She was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said the suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2014 to 2019 Toyota Corolla with front-end damage. CHP reported the vehicle continued approximately a quarter mile north of Central Avenue after the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
