Several people were injured after a car crashed into the side of a church at 551 Nevada Street, between Ogden and Crescent avenues, in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2026.
According to the San Francisco Fire Department, crews were dispatched just before 2:25 p.m. to reports of a vehicle collision involving the church.
Fire officials said seven people were evaluated at the scene with injuries believed to be minor, while three others were transported to a hospital. Authorities stated the crash appeared to be accidental, noting that the driver was associated with the address.
The San Francisco Department of Building and Inspections evaluated the structure and determined it was safe for occupancy before returning it to the owner. Authorities cleared the scene by approximately 2:30 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
