[01-18-2026] Riverside County, CA – Motorcyclist And Driver Injured in Crash on Ortega Highway Near Lake Elsinore

A motorcycle rider and a vehicle driver were injured in a collision southwest of El Cariso, near Lake Elsinore, on Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2026.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the crash was reported at approximately 3:21 p.m. on Ortega (74) Highway. 

Fire officials said the motorcyclist was transported by air ambulance to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance with moderate injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
