[01-16-2026] San Diego County, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocks Westbound SR-76 Near Via Monserate in Fallbrook.webpA multi-vehicle collision involving a pregnant driver blocked the westbound lanes of State Route 76 near Via Monserate in Fallbrook, San Diego County, on Friday afternoon, January 16, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was first reported around 2:11 p.m. 

Initial reports described the vehicles as sedans or SUVs, but CHP radio communications later confirmed the collision involved a black Tesla and a white Honda. 

Emergency crews requested paramedics to evaluate a pregnant female driver involved in the crash, and an ambulance was dispatched. The extent of any injuries was not immediately released.

CHP reported that the crash blocked all westbound lanes of State Route 76 just west of Gird Road at Via Monserate. Officers directed traffic to pass through the center median to manage congestion. 

North County Fire Protection District units Engine 115 and Medic 115 were assigned to the scene, and tow trucks from Adams Tow and S&R Towing were dispatched to remove the vehicles.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
