Four people were killed, and four others were injured following a fiery collision between a van and a Nissan in Fresno County late Friday night, January 10, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Shaw and Floyd Avenues.
A van traveling southbound on Floyd Avenue reportedly pulled out from a two-way stop and collided with a westbound Nissan on Shaw Avenue.
The impact caused the Nissan to strike the driver’s side of the van, flipping the van onto its side. Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
Two male passengers in the Nissan managed to escape with moderate injuries. The driver and a passenger in the van, along with the driver and a passenger in the Nissan, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional passengers in the van sustained minor injuries.
Authorities suspect that alcohol and/or drugs may have been contributing factors in the crash.
The CHP is actively investigating the incident.
