[01-07-2026] Solano County, CA – Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Crash on Southbound Interstate 505 Near Allendale Road

A wrong-way driver was killed in a crash that blocked the southbound lanes of Interstate 505 near Allendale Road in Solano County on Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. near Allendale Road, approximately nine miles north of Vacaville. 

CHP said the driver of a gold Toyota Prius was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 505 when the vehicle collided with a Subaru Forester that was heading southbound. The driver of the Prius was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the Subaru Forester was transported to a hospital with major injuries and was reported to be in stable condition. 

The investigation is ongoing.
