[01-05-2026] Police Seeking Suspect in Hit-and-Run Crash at First Ave. and Esplanade in Chico.webpPolice are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash in Chico on Monday, January 5, 2026.

According to the Chico Police Department, the crash occurred at 5:28 p.m. at the intersection of First Avenue and Esplanade. Surveillance footage shows that the driver ran a red light, collided with another vehicle, and then made a three-point turn before heading north on Esplanade.

Investigators revealed that the vehicle involved, a white 2015 Chrysler 200, is registered in Colusa. However, the registered owner is not the person seen in the footage.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the Chico Police Traffic Office.
