Eight people were injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Beaumont on Thursday afternoon, January 1, 2026.
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the crash was reported shortly before 4:00 p.m. in the 16400 block of Lamb Canyon Road and Dump Road near the Lamb Canyon Landfill.
Firefighters arrived to find at least one person trapped and requested additional equipment to assist with extrication. Authorities said a second collision occurred behind the initial crash scene, contributing to a total of eight injured individuals.
Fire officials reported that one person was transported in critical condition, one sustained moderate injuries, five suffered minor injuries, and one person declined hospital care and left against medical advice.
The total number of vehicles involved was not immediately known. California Highway Patrol Inland Division officers responded to assist with traffic control as lanes were gradually reopened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
