A 20-year-old man was killed in a collision involving his SUV and a horse trailer on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar on Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 8:40 a.m. east of Golden Springs Drive.
The driver, identified as Jose N., was driving a 2000 Toyota 4Runner eastbound when it collided with a horse trailer being pulled by a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup.
The impact caused the Toyota to overturn, coming to rest on its right side in the HOV lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the pickup were not injured, and no animals in the horse trailer were harmed.
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
